Defending the Inflation Reduction Act
Earlier this year, there was an effort in Congress to repeal the IRA as a part of the debt limit negotiations. We were fortunate to avoid a worst-case scenario in which we lost all or part of this landmark solar policy. However, these events set a dangerous precedent for the remainder of this Congress and potentially beyond. We are keenly aware that there is a small faction of Congress that would still like to repeal the IRA outright, and many others who will see the money allocated in the IRA as a piggy bank to fund other policy priorities.
Solar Integrated Roofing - Lessons Learned from Residential Installations
Join SEIA and the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) for a deep-dive into lessons learned from installing roofing-integrated solar photovoltaic systems. NREL will share research on roofing integrated PV products in the residential market segment and where markets seem to be growing nationwide. NREL will also provide insights from on-the-ground observations or time and motion studies of various roofing-integrated PV installations.
Now Is the Summer of Domestic Content: The Inflation Reduction Act's Demand-side Manufacturing Policy
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has unleashed billions of dollars of new investments in American manufacturing, including many of the key components of solar energy systems. While the IRA contains several provisions designed to do just this, the domestic content adder is a unique demand-side measure that will ensure that the hundreds of gigawatts of clean energy capacity projected to come online in the next decade are built with steel, iron, and manufactured products made in America.
Inverter-Based Resource Performance Discussion
Join SEIA and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) for an upcoming webinar to discuss industry recommendations related to variable inverter-based renewable energy power systems performance. This presentation will cover recent findings, details and takeaways from NERC's Level 2 Alert that took place on March 14, 2023.Join the webinar on May 17th at 2:00pm to learn more about NERC’s proposed risk mitigation strategy regarding inverter-based resources from key industry and cybersecurity experts.Speakers:
