University of Michigan Poll: 74% of Americans Support RES

A poll conducted by the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and the Muhlenberg Institute of Public Opinion found that 74% of Americans believe state governments should require a certain amount of electricity to be sourced from renewables such as solar.

North Star Poll: Survey of Registered Florida Votes on Energy Issues

North Star Opinion Reseach conducted a poll of Florida voters for the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy in October of 2014. The poll found that a majority of Florida voters support increased access to solar through net metering and other public policies that incentivize the development of solar across the state. 71% of those polled favor net metering, and 74% said they support a statewide legislative effort to allow companies to install solar panels on homes and business at no upfront cost to the consumer.

Hannah Solar and the U.S. Navy Join Mississippi Power

Mississippi Power is partnering with Hannah Solar, LLC, and the U.S. Navy to build solar systems at two different locations in the company’s service territory. The U.S. Navy intends to fulfill the Secretary of the Navy's goal to produce one gigawatt of renewable energy.

Zogby Analytics Poll: Americans Overwhelmingly Support Extending Renewable Energy Incentives

In a poll conducted in April 2-15 by Zogby Analytics for SolarCity, 74% of Americans polled favored continuing federal tax incentives that support the growth of the solar and wind industries, including 82% of Democrats, two thirds of Republicans (67%) and 72% of Independents.

Morning Consult Poll, May 2014

In May 2014, Morning Consult conducted a poll on public support for renewable energy technologies. The poll found that solar had a 92 percent favorability rating, the highest of any option provided.
