Solar Industry Programming at Community Colleges

SEIA’s digital communications team is interested in partnering with community colleges to help share the success stories of solar industry workforce development programs. The programs at community colleges are critical to helping thousands of young professionals begin their careers in clean energy. Ideas for digital content to uplift these opportunities and stories could potentially be a series of on-site video interviews with students, instructors, and program leaders to later be used in social media videos and website content here. SEIA’s Community & Technical College Map

SEIA has launched a new resource to help our member companies address hiring needs in near vicinity to your upcoming projects.

In the future, less than half of all new solar jobs will require a bachelor’s degree. Community colleges, technical colleges and two-year certificate programs play a key role in training and building the variety of workers needed by the solar and storage industries. These include electricians, installers, construction workers and supervisors, project managers, salespeople, manufacturing technicians, system designers, operations & maintenance technicians, and more.

SEIA members can access our interactive map that locates these institutions in near vicinity to your upcoming projects. The map provides links to their career offices for your hiring and job fair purposes and highlights solar-relevant programming for each institution for you to connect with for your curriculum and/or upskilling needs. You can zoom in on the map to see locations of nearby airports, building/campus footprints and other important sites and landmarks to help you plan for your hiring trips and needs.
