Energy Communities Eligible for a 10% Adder Tax Credit under the Inflation Reduction Act

SEIA maintains a resource for member companies to identify areas that are likely to qualify as Energy Communities (ECs) eligible to receive the Energy Communities Bonus Tax Credit. SEIA members (Watt-level and above) can access an interactive version of this map, as well as additional details on the methodology and justification for including the areas shown.

The map includes:

• Each vintage of official Department of the Treasury determinations
  • Shows Statistical Area Counties in each vintage determination
  • Coal Closure Census tracts listed by Treasury
• Monthly updates showing:
  • New census tracts implicated by new coal generator retirements and coal mine closures
    • Includes markers for and names of coal generators/mines that confer eligibility
  • Starting in late Q3, monthly estimates for potential next-year determinations for Statistical Areas.
• Premium SEIA members can also download shapefile to use in their own GIS systems.
