REC To Supply TwinPeak Modules To Sunrun

Module producer RE Group will supply 120-150 MW of its high efficiency TwinPeak Series modules to solar lease provider Sunrun. The module deal is the largest of its kind for the REC TwinPeak series and demonstrates strong demand for high efficiency module concepts.

Yingli, R.Power Expand Polish Solar Portfolio To 60 MW

Building on their 30 MW partnership announced last year, China-based Yingli and Poland’s R.Power, formerly AMB Energia, have said they will build 60 MW worth of ground-mounted solar PV projects. It is expected that the systems will be included in Poland’s 2016 and 2017 auction systems. Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will hold a roughly equal stake in the projects, which will be sold off to investors once they reach commercial operation.

Sonnenbatterie Launches Solar-Plus-Storage Storage System For $10,645

Sonnenbatterie announced an all-in-one residential PV and storage system for $10,645. The price includes a 2 kilowatt-hour eco 2 Sonnenbatterie battery, a German-made PV panel, an inverter, an intelligent control system and 19 percent sales tax (called value added tax or VAT in Europe). The only cost not included is installation, since this varies according to location. Philipp Schröder, Sonnenbatterie’s managing director, told GTM a “low-end” installation cost could be in the region of $745, including VAT.

Modi And Hollande To Launch Global Solar Alliance At COP21

Indian prime minister and French president Francois Hollande will jointly launch the International Solar Alliance (ISA) at the COP21 climate conference in Paris today. The proposed alliance, also named International Agency for Solar Technologies and Applications (IASTA), is aiming to have over 100 countries join, including US, China and France as well as countries situated between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. It will focus on giving momentum to solar energy policies, increasing cooperation over best and new technologies and bringing faster cost reductions.
