Titanium Metal Corporation is building a titanium manufacturing plant in Jackson County. This factory will use a solar microgrid for reliable electricity and establish the factory as a leader in the industry.

Greenbrier County Schools Announce New Solar Array

Greenbrier County Schools added a rooftop solar array. The County Board of Education President said, “We don’t have to rely on outside resources for our energy. We’re going to cut our energy costs, but we’re also going to make dividends from it, which will pay for this project, as well as dividends for the county.”

Steel of WV Celebrates Partnership With Solar Company

Steel Mill of West Virginia recently celebrated a 10 year partnership with Solv Energy, one of the largest solar developers in the country. Over the last 10 years, Still of West Virginia has supplied steel for 125 solar arrays, totaling over $150 million worth of steel.

Oak Tree Poultry Farm Reduces Electricity Costs With Solar

West Virginia based Solar Holler installed 1,400 panels at Oak Tree Farm. The solar panels on the poultry farm will produce over 941,000 kWh of electricity and reduce electricity costs by 10%.

Ceredo-Kenova Elementary School added 400 solar panels to its roof. The superintended estimated this would save the school $200,000 annually, allowing the district to spend more on educating students.

Princeton Church Uses Solar to Reduce Electricity Costs

The Appalachian Solar Finance Fund funded a 447 kW rooftop solar project for the Lifeline Church of God in Princeton. This is expected to save the church $1,938,000 over the next 20 years.

Nitro Public Library Uses Solar to Save $12,000 Annually

The Nitro Public Library installed a rooftop solar array. The city's mayor said, "We are looking at a savings of approximately $12,000 dollars a month.”

Historic J.Q. Dickinson Salt-works Converts to Solar Energy

J.Q. Dickinson Salt-works is now using a rooftop solar array. This will help the company significantly cut down on huge electric bills.
