Veteran Recruiting & Retention: Practical Strategies for a Veteran-Inclusive Workplace

As the solar industry continues its rapid growth, we must build back better to create a more diverse, inclusive, and resilient workforce. In order to reach the Biden Administration’s goal of 100% carbon-free electricity by 2035, the solar workforce must quadruple in size from 230,000 today to 900,000 workers in 2035.

Military veterans have both technical and soft skills that are essential to our quickly expanding clean energy industry. Veterans represent nearly 9% of the solar workforce, compared to 6% in the overall economy. Yet there is still a long way to go in order to continue building military representation in solar energy.

You are invited to this free webinar to gain practical insight into military recruiting, hiring, and retention strategies and tips. You will hear from veteran recruiting experts as well as solar employers that are successfully implementing these strategies. Join us during the week of Veteran’s Day and join the ranks of military-friendly employers. This webinar is part of the Solar Ready Vets Network, which aims to connect transitioning servicemembers and military veterans with careers in solar. Funding for this project is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy.
