WASHINGTON, D.C. - Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the national trade association of the U.S. solar energy industry, announced today that Cypress Creek Renewables, a leading provider of local solar farms, has joined SEIA’s board of directors.
“Cypress Creek Renewables has quickly become a respected leader and we’re looking forward to benefiting from their vast expertise and proven collaborative skills on our diverse board,” said Tom Kimbis, SEIA’s interim president. “Their commitment to the communities they serve creates jobs, strengthens local economies and advances the solar industry as a whole, which aligns perfectly with SEIA’s mission and vision.”
With more than 200 team members and locations across the country, Cypress uses a data-driven approach to identify and acquire underutilized land on which to build utility-scale solar arrays.
Since 2014, the company has invested more than $1.5 billion into our nation’s economy, promoting partnerships with landowners, local communities, regulators, lenders and consumers to maximize green energy usage as well as foster community development through the creation of well-paying local jobs.
“Cypress Creek is honored to be joining the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). We’re excited for the opportunity to work alongside other industry leaders in furthering our goal of putting as much solar on the ground as possible,” said Cypress Creek Renewables CEO Matthew McGovern.
Today, there are 31.6 gigawatts of installed solar capacity in the U.S. – enough to power more than 6.2 million American homes. That amount is expected to grow substantially over the next five years due to the federal investment tax credit, a bipartisan policy that is adding hundreds of thousands of jobs across America while making our nation more energy independent.
Celebrating its 42nd anniversary in 2016, the Solar Energy Industries Association® is the national trade association of the U.S. solar energy industry. Through advocacy and education, SEIA® is building a strong solar industry to power America. As the voice of the industry, SEIA works with its 1,000 member companies to champion the use of clean, affordable solar in America by expanding markets, removing market barriers, strengthening the industry and educating the public on the benefits of solar energy.
