WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) today announced that Sarah Vilms will serve as the organization’s vice president of strategic growth initiatives. Vilms is a leading energy policy expert with nearly 30 years of experience advocating for renewable energy and energy storage deployment, permitting, transmission, and land use.
At SEIA, Vilms will focus on leveraging federal programs and funding opportunities to bolster the solar and storage industry’s impact across the country.
“Sarah has been an advocacy force in the energy industry for decades, and we are thrilled to bring her into the SEIA fold and fortify our federal team as the 2024 election approaches, said SEIA president and CEO Abigail Ross Hopper. Federal clean energy policies are driving historic investments into the economy. It’s critical that the solar and storage industry has the leadership in place to capitalize on these programs and deliver the benefits to communities nationwide.
Prior to joining SEIA, Vilms served as the energy principal for Squire Patton Boggs public policy department, where she focused on energy and the environment for more than two decades.
“I am thrilled to be joining the preeminent voice of the U.S. solar industry as we work to maximize the impact of historic federal investments in clean energy, said Vilms. I’m passionate about America’s transition to a clean energy economy, and there is no better time in our history than now to be doing such important work at SEIA.
