WASHINGTON, DC – Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), today urged Congress to expedite legislation which would provide long-term reauthorization for the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im).
“Ex-Im has played an essential role in leveling the global playing field for U.S. solar manufacturers. Indeed, hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. solar exports were made possible by Ex-Im. These are high-tech products made here in America.Â
“But other nations also recognize the massive economic opportunity of solar energy and are expanding their support for local manufacturers and exports, including aggressive trade finance programs. In this increasingly competitive environment, U.S. solar manufacturers’ ability to access Ex-Im programs and services is more important than ever.”Â
