Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) announced it was named to The Washington Post’s 2024 Top Workplaces list for the second year in a row.

The highly selective award is based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage LLC, an employee engagement technology partner. The survey measures an organization’s leadership and workplace culture, including whether employees feel respected, supported, and empowered to execute their work.

Only 250 companies and five trade associations in the Washington metropolitan area earned this recognition.

“For two years in a row, SEIA has been named one of the best places to work in Washington, DC because of our passionate team and dynamic workplace culture,” said SEIA president and CEO Abigail Ross Hopper. “Over 95% of SEIA employees say their ideas are encouraged and feel like their work is meaningful. Our staff are our best asset and the driving force behind a welcoming and inclusive workplace, making SEIA a great place to build a career.”

SEIA scored well in all facets of the staff survey and outpaced other nonprofits and trade associations that took the survey in nearly every category. Similar to its recognition in 2023, SEIA received high marks in areas that contribute to a positive company culture, including good management and inclusivity. According to the survey, 94% of SEIA staff respondents say there is good interdepartmental cooperation across the organization, which is 21% higher than other nonprofit trade associations that participated.

The survey shows that 94% of SEIA staff feel included in the organization’s culture, and 92% say that SEIA operates with strong values at the core of its work. In addition, managers were rated highly, with 98% of employees stating that their manager cares about their concerns and helps them learn and grow.
