WASHINGTON D.C. — Today the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) announced the election of Scott Moskowitz of Qcells as chair of its Board of Directors, alongside a slate of newly elected board members representing the full breadth of the U.S. solar and storage industry.
Moskowitz’s election as chair, representing Qcells, a major solar manufacturer and clean energy solutions provider in the United States, underscores SEIA’s commitment to ensuring American-made solar and storage remain the nation’s leading sources of new power. Moskowitz was elected SEIA board chair in a special election to replace Darren Van’t Hof, who stepped down from the role following his appointment as interim president and CEO.
In addition to Moskowitz’s election as chair, Dr. Ingmar Ritzenhofen, chief commercial officer of solar and storage project developer RWE Clean Energy, was elected vice chair, bringing deep experience in large-scale project development and grid integration.
“As the solar and storage industry enters an important year of growth and transition in 2026, from policy uncertainty to an evolving regulatory landscape, SEIA’s success depends on strong, experienced leadership,” said SEIA interim president and CEO Darren Van’t Hof. “Congratulations to Scott, Ingmar, and all of SEIA’s new and returning board members. Together, we will ensure solar and storage continue to lead America’s energy future and deliver the economic and energy security that Americans are demanding.”
“I’m grateful to the SEIA board for the opportunity to serve as chair at a critical moment for our industry,” said Moskowitz. “SEIA has an important role to play in advancing durable, bipartisan policy that accelerates deployment, strengthens U.S. manufacturing, and lowers electricity costs. I look forward to working closely with the board, staff, and policymakers to advance these goals.”
In addition, SEIA’s board of directors has approved three elected at-large members, a new SEIA affiliate representative, as well as division chairs and vice chairs of SEIA’s six membership divisions.
