Georgia Power Company Launches Advanced Solar Initiative Distributed Generation Program

Georgia Power Company (GPC) launched its 2015-2016 Advanced Solar Initiative Distributed Generation program.  Approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission in November 2012, the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative (GPASI) is an innovative solar program designed to procure 210 MW of solar capacity.

SunPower Broadens Its Commercial Reach By Offering Battery Services From Stem

For the last five months, SunPower has been reselling Stem's behind-the-meter battery systems to commercial customers across the U.S. The companies are not revealing the number of systems they've installed through the partnership, but SunPower's Ivo Steklac said he expects storage to help increase commercial-sector business "rather dramatically" based on early activity.

SolarCity Helping Solarize New York Municipality, Expected To Save Village $2 Million In 20 Years

The village of Canton, New York, has decided to contract with SolarCity, a national solar company, as it moves forward with plans to solarize the municipality. The decision is expected to save taxpayers nearly $2 million during a 20-year period by locking in a rate of six cents per kilowatt during that time.

SolarCity Relocating Arizona Workers Out Of State

The largest solar panel installer in Arizona, SolarCity will relocate at least 85 of 900 Arizona workers out of state. The company cited recently approved increases on solar fees by Salt River Project as a reason for the personnel shift.
