U.S. Solar Installations Jump in First Quarter

Solar installations in the United States jumped 85 percent in the first quarter of 2012 from the previous year, according to an industry report that prompted a research firm and a lobbying group to raise their capacity forecasts for the year.

The U.S. Solar Market is Booming this Year

The U.S. solar market is shaping up to be significantly larger than anticipated and could end up installing nearly 3.3 GW of solar panels in 2012, a roughly 18 percent jump from the previous forecast of 2.8 GW, according to a report from GTM Research and Solar Energy Industries Association on Wednesday.

Solar equipment makers seek anti-dumping duty on imports from China, Malaysia, Taiwan

The Economic TimesNEW DELHI:  Indian manufacturers of solar equipment are seeking anti-dumping duty on imports from China, Malaysia, Taiwan and the US on the grounds that local industry is bleeding because of "ridiculously low" price of foreign equipment.   The industry wants anti-dumping in imports of solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules, and has filed an application to the directorate general of anti-dumping and allied duties (DGAD).
