SEIA Advocates for Product Exclusions in Comments Filed to USTR

New Jersey Lawmakers Pass Clean Energy Bills to Spur State’s Renewable Economy

TRENTON, NJ - To clean energy advocates and the solar industry’s delight, New Jersey lawmakers approved companion bills today that will significantly advance New Jersey’s clean energy economy. The Assembly passed A3723 (50-20) and the Senate passed S2314 (29-8). The bills will stabilize and expand New Jersey’s renewable market and help extend the cost-saving benefits of solar to more families, communities and businesses in the state.

SEIA Says S.C. Legislature’s Failure to Pass Solar Bill Puts 3,000 Jobs at Risk

S.C. Bill to Lift Net Metering Cap Passes House

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A bill that will eliminate an artificial cap on net metering from rooftop solar installations, allowing for more people to have solar energy as an electricity option, is moving forward in South Carolina. The legislation passed the state House on a 64-33 vote yesterday. Advocates Applaud Momentum on Clean Energy as Bills Advance in New Jersey Legislature

TRENTON, N.J. -State and national solar energy advocates today thanked lawmaker leadership for approving bills to advance New Jersey’s clean energy economy. Assemblyman John McKeon’s A3723 was passed in the Assembly Appropriations Committee and Senator Bob Smith’s S2314 was passed in the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. Ahead of Tax Day, SEIA Reminds Consumers of Eligible Tax Credits

WASHINGTON, D.C. - With April 15 quickly approaching, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is reminding eligible solar consumers to claim the 30 percent Investment Tax Credit (ITC) on their federal tax returns and urging them to take care when seeking professional tax advice.   Consumers who purchased a solar system and installed it on their home in 2017 may be able to claim a 30 percent federal income tax credit under Section 25D of the internal revenue code. Commercial entities are eligible to claim a credit under Section 48 of the code.

Utah Governor Signs New Laws Protecting Solar Consumers and Extending State Tax Credit

WASHINGTON, D.C. and SALT LAKE CITY, UT - The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Utah Solar Energy Association (USEA) jointly thanked Utah Gov. Gary Herbert and the Utah State Legislature for two new laws the industry advocated for that will help future solar homeowners through cost savings and increased consumer protection.   Gov. Herbert signed both pieces of legislation into law this month.

Solar Industry Commends Colorado for Enacting Pioneering Energy Storage Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C.  - Today, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (COSEIA) jointly commended Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper for signing into law energy storage legislation that will help the state’s solar market and jobs grow. The measure, Senate Bill 9, allows Colorado residents to install and use energy storage on their property without unnecessary restrictions or discriminatory rates. The legislation makes Colorado one of the first states to declare energy storage a “right” for consumers.
