Steph Bosh, Senior Vice President of Communications, SEIA

North America’s largest clean energy trade show is quickly approaching, with new features and opportunities that aim to make RE+ 26 the best one yet. In this special episode of Good Energy, first time attendee and SEIA President & CEO Tim Pawlenty interviews podcast hosts Steph Bosh and Colin Silver about what everyone should know before touching down in Las Vegas this November.

Q: Where is RE+ and when?

A: Like last year, RE+ takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year, the trade show is taking place November 16-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, one of the world’s largest convention centers.

Q: What networking opportunities exist at RE+?

A: Bosh describes the excitement of the show floor at RE+, filled with professionally-produced booths showcasing products and services for every segment of the clean energy sector. She notes how the trade show is a hub for energy businesses to cut deals. Additionally, SEIA and the RE+ team organize an abundance of education sessions and networking events that give attendees from business leaders to students and prospective employees the opportunity to meet new people.

Silver adds that attendees can jumpstart networking before arriving in Las Vegas thanks to the RE+ App, which outlines the education and networking events happening at the conference, allowing attendees to see who will be speaking and where and build out a customized schedule all within the app. He strongly encourages RE+ conferencegoers to plan their schedules for their time in Las Vegas well in advance.

Q: What social events should conferencegoers plan on attending?

A: Silver encourages folks to attend the RE+ block party open to all conference attendees. He additionally notes that many exhibitors host happy hours at their booths throughout the week. Finally, SEIA has a number of open events that can be found on its RE+ microsite.

Q: What’s new at RE+ this year?

A: Bosh notes that RE+ is often the place for companies to announce and showcase cutting-edge technologies like floating solar and panel clean technologies. Silver adds that RE+ is co-located this year with the Green Transportation Summit and Expo, which will further incorporate electric vehicles and charging infrastructure into the wider trade show. This year, the show will additionally have the PowerUp Voices Stage that will amplify influential voices within the industry.

Finally, racing lovers will appreciate that the Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix will be taking place in the days following conference. Bosh additionally notes that a RE+ hosts a solar car race with cars designed by students around the world.

Q: What should I wear at RE+?

A: Bosh emphasizes how important it is for attendees to wear good, broken-in, and comfortable walking shoes, and specifically discourages wearing heels.

Q: Where can I eat at the Las Vegas Convention Center?

Kiosks and venders will be placed throughout the convention halls with food and drink. Additionally, Bosh notes that many exhibitors offer refreshments at their booths.

Q: Where is the SEIA Booth at RE+?

As a co-owner of the RE+ trade show, SEIA’s booth will be located at the entrance of the show floor. SEIA’s membership team and staff experts will be on hand throughout the conference to answer attendee questions, and the Good Energy podcast will have an interactive element at the booth for listeners.
