Tennessee Records Strong Solar Growth in 2014

Showing strong growth over prior years, Tennessee more than doubled its amount of installed solar capacity in 2014, according to the recently-released U.S. Solar Market Insight 2014 Year in Review. What’s more, Tennessee was one of only four states nationwide to have 100 percent of its new electrical capacity come from solar energy.

New Mexico Shows Strong Solar Growth in 2014

Nevada Continues Strong Solar Investment

With the addition of another major solar power plant supplying clean, renewable energy to America’s sunniest state, Nevada was second in the nation in added solar capacity during Q3, according to GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association’s (SEIA) most recent U.S. Solar Market Insight® quarterly report. The Copper Mountain 3 project added 171.4 megawatts (MW) to Nevada’s solar portfolio.

Utah’s Solar Industry Beginning to Take Hold

A new growth industry is emerging in Utah, where residential solar installations in Q3 alone were equal to the amount installed in all last year. North Carolina Ranks 3rd Nationwide for Q3 Solar Installations

Continuing its strong solar progress, North Carolina installed 95 megawatts (MW) of solar PV in Q3, more than all the solar installed in the state in 2010 and 2011 combined and enough to rank the state 3rd nationwide for added capacity, according to the new quarterly report from GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). The Solar Market Insight Report found Q3 2014 represented a 172 percent increase over the previous quarter for North Carolina.
