Nevada Gold Mines Completes Construction of 200MW Solar Power Plant

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) announced the completion of a 200 MW solar project. This solar project will provide nearly 20% of NGM's annual power needs.

Nextracker & Unimacts Dedicate Second Nevada Factory to Serve Solar Power Demand

Nextracker and Unimacts jointly announced a new 160,000 square-foot torque tube manufacturing facility in Nevada. This is the second venture between the two companies in Nevada, and will provide 2 GW of domestically manufactured torque tubes for the solar industry.

Carson City Uses Solar on Public Buildings to Save Taxpayers $50,000 Annually

Carson City installed 500 kW of solar on three locations at the Public Work's Complex. These solar projects save the city $50,000 annually on electricity costs, which gets passed off as savings for Carson City taxpayers.

Nevada Receives $156 Million to Provide Solar to Needy Communities

The Nevada Clean Energy Fund received $156 million from the Solar for All grant for renewable energy for low-income and underserved communities. The funding will also create high-paying, long-term jobs throughout Nevada.

Nevada Gold Mines Receives $95 Million Federal Grant for Solar on Former Mining Sites

Nevada Gold Mines was awarded $95 million in federal funding to demonstrate technological and economic viability of solar on active and former mining sites. NGM will use the funds to build a 40 MW solar project and 100 MWh storage project at the Turquoise Ridge Mine in Humboldt County and a 60 MW solar array with a 148 MWh at its mine in Lander County.

Solar Plus Storage Project Powered Super Bowl in Las Vegas

Super Bowl LVII in Las Vegas was powered entirely by a solar plus storage project. The electricity for the game came from the Arrow Canyon solar plus storage project.

Comstock Metals has secured a lease on a 100,000 square foot facility in Silver Springs that will recycle 100% of a solar panel. This facility will be able to recycle up to 100,000 tons of end-of-life solar panels per year.

Nellis Air Force Base Receives Reliable Power From Two Onsite Solar Arrays

The Nellis Air Force Base unveiled a second onsite solar project. The two solar arrays will provide enough power to provide the base with all the energy it needs, allowing the base to run during emergencies.

Nevada Outpaces National Average for Solar-Related Job Growth

Solar-related jobs increased 14% in Nevada, which is more than twice the national average. This comes from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council's National solar Jobs Census and shows more that 8,500 Nevadans work in Solar energy.

Empire Farms in Gerlach partnered with Sunworks to build 706 kW of solar on four Empire Farms sites. This will save the organic hay farmer $83,000 pear year and over $2.5 million over the next 25 years.

The Medlins' 40 year old cattle ranch uses solar power for the majority of its energy needs. This lets the remote Tikaboo Valley ranch ensure it has reliable electricity for the farmers and their 500 cattle.

Dignity Health Showcases Clean Energy Leadership With Solar Carport

Dignity Health-Str. Rose Dominican hosted a community roundtable on clean energy leadership, where they showed their new solar panel arrays. These solar carports produce an estimated 4.5 million kWh of clean energy annually, leading to significant energy savings for the hospital.

Libra Solar Plus Storage Will Invest $2.3 Billion in Nevada

NV Energy signed a power purchase agreement with Arevia Power to offtake electricity from the Libra solar plus storage project. The 700 MW project will be completed in 2027 in Mineral County and provide $2.3 billion in investment, including creating 1,100 jobs and $250 million in direct wages.

UNLV Rooftop Solar Powers Students to a Bright Future

UNLV has 1.4 MW of solar panels on top of 14 university buildings. This saves the university about $130,000 annually in energy costs while providing a bright future for UNLV students.

Arrow Canyon Solar Project Completed on Moapa River Indian Reservation

McCarthy Building Companies completed the Arrow Canyon Solar project, a 274 MW solar and 455 MWh storage project. This project had 450 employees, including 46 tribal members and is able to provide enough energy for up to 76,000 Nevada homes.

Pahrump Electric Co-op Set to Receive $80.3 Million for Solar Project

The Pahrump Electric Co-op has been awarded an $80.3 million federal loan to build a solar project that will power 3,500 homes. The 37 MW solar project will serve a portion of co-op's 20,100 members.

Harnessing the Sun: Mojave High School's Innovative Solar Carports

Mojave High School in North Las Vegas added a solar carport with 1,012 solar panels. This is the first Community Based Solar Resource in Nevada and will provide low cost electricity to the Clark County School District for 25 years.

Nye County Alfalfa Farmer Saves $1 Million Thanks to Solar

Railroad Valley Farms in Nye County received $253,405 from the Rural Energy for America grant to build two 305 kW solar systems. These solar projects are expected to save the farm $1 million over its lifetime.
