Emily is a seasoned leader in branding and strategic communications, driven by her passion for graphic design. Originally from Massachusetts, she earned her BA in English Literature from Framingham State University. With nearly a decade of experience, Emily has dedicated herself to empowering national and international nonprofits in achieving success by building strong brands and creating thoughtful communications. She joins SEIA from Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) of Northern Virginia, where she served as the Director of Communications. During her tenure, she spearheaded transformative initiatives including a brand refresh, website redesign, and comprehensive communications strategy overhaul. Prior to her role at SCAN, Emily led and supported communications at notable organizations such as the Prevent Cancer Foundation, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) and Find the Cause Breast Cancer Foundation.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Emily is deeply committed to serving her community, having volunteered as the Digital Manager of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) of DC and serving as a founding member of the Junior Board at SafeSpot, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Fairfax. She now lives in Alexandria with her husband and rescue dog, Vixen. In her spare time you can find her reading, thrifting, or hiking.
