Alec Ward
Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs
Alec is SEIA’s Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs. He represents SEIA in front of various federal agencies regarding energy matters most important to the solar and storage industry.
Before joining SEIA, Alec led state legislative and federal affairs teams at Ava Community Energy, one of the largest clean energy providers in the country. He formerly served the California Public Utilities Commission, leading the Public Advocates Office’s engagement in distributed solar and storage proceedings. Alec previously worked on the federal affairs team at the Nature Conservancy in D.C., and he worked on climate and clean energy policies for advocacy and congressional campaigns.
Alec holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University. He lives in Richmond, VA where he enjoys hiking and rock hopping around the James River.
