Aquanetta “Addie” Momyer serves as the Assistant General Counsel of the Solar Energy Industries Association, the national trade association representing America’s solar industry. Addie works directly with the General Counsel to support SEIA’s day-to-day functions, and her primary area of focus is Consumer Protection. Addie’s work directly supports SEIA’s two-pronged approach to consumer protection: providing SEIA’s member companies with the resources and support needed to successfully navigate the complex network of federal, state and local consumer protection laws and regulations; and ensuring that consumers and the public at large are educated about the process of making the transition to solar, and how to make decisions that best meet their individual needs and circumstances.
Addie has over twenty years of direct client services and litigation experience and previously served as a Staff Attorney and Supervising Attorney at Maryland Legal Aid, Maryland’s largest public interest law firm. Her practice areas included Family and Domestic Law; private and subsidized housing, including landlord/tenant disputes; unemployment claims; unpaid wage claims; unfair debt collection; consumer protection; and Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. Addie worked briefly in private practice before joining SEIA in 2023.
Addie graduated Cum Laude from Howard University School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Humanities at The Ohio State University. She and her husband Tim have four children and one grandson. In addition to volunteering in her community, Addie enjoys reading, singing, crocheting and other crafts, and most of all, spending time at the beach with her family. Addie is also working on her first book, The Addie Chronicles.
