WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) today announced that Power Electronics is joining its board of directors. Founded in 1987, Power Electronics is a global manufacturer of inverters for solar and energy storage projects.
In September 2023, Power Electronics announced a $300 million manufacturing investment to produce over 20 gigawatts of inverter capacity and employ 600 workers in the United States.
“Power Electronics is a shining example of the thousands of innovative clean energy companies that are investing in American communities nationwide,” said SEIA president and CEO Abigail Ross Hopper. “The rise of domestic manufacturing is critical for our national security and energy security, and I’m thrilled to work alongside this leading firm to chart the path forward for the solar and storage industry.”
According to SEIA, 64 new or expanded solar manufacturing facilities have been announced in the United States since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
“It is an honor to join the SEIA board and continue collaborating for the sector’s success and competitiveness,” said David Salvo Power Electronics CEO. “Power Electronics’ manufacturing projects in the United States demonstrate our commitment to America’s energy transition. We are confident that, hand in hand with SEIA, we can contribute to building a stronger solar industry.”
SEIA’s board of directors consists of more than 50 companies from across the solar value chain, including installers, developers, manufacturers, financiers, and service providers.
The IRA is helping to spur demand for clean energy across America. As a result of this law, more than $100 billion in private investments have been announced and the industry is expected to add hundreds of thousands of jobs over the next 10 years.
