SEIA Statement on Inauguration of President Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following is a statement from Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA):

“On behalf of America’s solar and storage industry, I want to congratulate President Trump on his historic inauguration today. The next four years hold incredible opportunity to advance our nation’s energy goals, boost domestic manufacturing and create jobs that directly benefit the American people for generations to come.

“Solar, now a $60 billion industry, is adding more new capacity to the U.S. grid than any other fuel source amid the largest increase in electricity demand since World War II. It’s clear that we will not reach President Trump’s vision for American energy dominance or technological innovation without continued solar and energy storage growth.

“Under President Trump’s first term, the solar industry grew by an astounding 128%. We’re ready to work with the new administration and Congress to continue the buildout of solar and storage, including the ongoing surge in domestic manufacturing that is reducing our reliance on foreign countries and supporting American workers.”
