SEIA: New Jobs Report Shows Value of Effective Public Policies

WASHINGTON, DC – Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), released the following statement today after carefully reviewing The Solar Foundation’s new state-by-state jobs report:

“By any measurement, these state-by-state jobs numbers represent a huge return on America’s investment in solar energy. Smart, effective and forward-looking public policies – such as the solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Net Energy Metering (NEM) – are driving solar deployment in all 50 states. Today, solar is generating enough clean, reliable and affordable electricity to power more than 2 million American homes – with double digit annual growth expected for the foreseeable future. SEIA applauds the hard work of The Solar Foundation in compiling its annual jobs report, and we look forward to working with governors, legislators and regulators nationwide on a wide range of public policies designed to create new jobs and protect our environment.”
