SEIA Joins U.S. Chamber, Business Groups to Protest India Trade Policies

WASHINGTON, DC – The Solar Energy Industries Association has joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers and other leading business groups to protest discriminatory trade policies by India.

In a letter to President Obama – signed by SEIA President & CEO Rhone Resch and other top business leaders – India has “engaged in a persistent pattern of discrimination designed to benefit India’s business community at the expense of American jobs.”

The business leaders warned President Obama that India’s domestic content requirements for information technology and clean energy equipment are a “disturbing trend that may continue and even expand to other products, sectors, and countries.  Already there are indications that other countries are considering similar measures.”
