WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) congratulated J.B. Pritzker on his successful campaign for governor in Illinois.
Following is a statement from Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association:
“Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker clearly recognizes the vital role that solar energy can play in Illinois and has already committed to pushing the state toward 100 percent renewable energy. We are forecasting Illinois to be one of the fastest-growing solar states over the next five years, and we look forward to working with Governor Pritzker and Illinois regulators and legislators to ensure solar’s continued growth.”
Illinois currently has 98 megawatts (MW) of installed solar but is forecast to add 1,856 MW over the next five years. Under Gov. Pritzker’s leadership and with smart policies in place, that growth could accelerate even faster. See more statistics on Illinois’ solar market.
