WASHINGTON, D.C.— This winter the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) welcomed Inovateus Solar, Sunnova, Sunlight Financial and Aon to its board of directors.

The four companies represent a range of solar sectors, including finance, residential and commercial installation, and utility-scale solar development. They come to SEIA’s board as the organization focuses on new market opportunities for solar to reach 20% of U.S. electricity generation by 2030.

“The solar industry is poised for historic growth, but it takes strong leadership to secure policies that will make that growth happen,” said SEIA president and CEO Abigail Ross Hopper. “We are at our strongest when every market segment has a seat at the table, and I’m proud that we’re continuing to strengthen our board with a variety of perspectives. Together we will continue to aggressively push for policies that help us create jobs and enable the rapid deployment of solar, taking us one step closer to achieving the president’s climate vision and our goals in the Solar+ Decade.”

Sunnova is a residential solar and energy storage provider with customers across the United States.

“We’re thrilled to be joining SEIA's board of directors at such a defining moment in our country's transition to a cleaner, more distributed and more reliable energy system,” said Meghan Nutting, executive vice president of policy and communications at Sunnova. “We are looking forward to working with SEIA’s leadership to ensure we strengthen our distributed solar policies, especially after experiencing such a systemic failure of utility power generation in our home state of Texas. Sunnova’s mission to power energy independence through clean, reliable and affordable solar services has never been more critical.”

Inovateus Solar is based in South Bend, Indiana and develops commercial and utility-scale solar projects.

"Inovateus Solar is excited to be joining the SEIA Board as we continue our mission of building a brilliant tomorrow. We look forward to working closely with the SEIA team in this critical solar decade on many initiatives including the advancement of industry best practices for sustainable solar development,” said T.J. Kanczuzewski, Co-Founder and CEO of Inovateus Solar. "As a leader in Midwest solar energy development and design-build services, we hope that our board involvement will provide unique support and insights as the solar power and energy storage industries continue to scale."

Sunlight Financial is a technology-enabled point-of-sale finance company. Sunlight partners with contractors nationwide to provide homeowners with financing for the installation of residential solar systems and other home improvements.

“Sunlight is honored to join the SEIA board,” said Nora Dahlman, the General Counsel of Sunlight Financial. “SEIA performs a crucial role in bringing together the solar industry to support the US transition to renewable energy and sustainable living more broadly. Sunlight is committed to ESG principles and very happy to be a part of this important mission.”

Aon is a global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions. Its M&A and Transaction Solutions practice focuses on managing complex financial risks that improve deal, business, and investment outcomes.

“Aon is excited to join SEIA’s board of directors,” said Gary Blitz, Co-CEO of M&A and Transaction Solutions and Head of the Tax Insurance Practice at Aon. “As an innovator and long-time developer of solutions that work to secure investments into solar energy projects, alongside our work for the industry on traditional property and casualty insurance and benefits, we see our participation as an opportunity to help advance attractive funding opportunities that help this industry reach its growth targets.”

SEIA continues to strengthen its board leadership as the industry advocates for a bold policy agenda in 2021. Learn more about SEIA’s advocacy priorities at www.SEIA.org/TheSolarDecade.
