Las Vegas Welcome Sign to Go Solar by New Year's

A plan to power the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign with solar panels is moving forward after the groups working on the project promised to make it easy on the eyes.

Clark County commissioners approved the solar plan Tuesday. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports groundbreaking is set for this fall, and the project should be complete by Jan. 1.
