SF Utility Single-Axis Solar Tracker By Soltec Obtains FINAME Accreditation
Soltec has obtained the FINAME certification for its SF Utility Single-Axis Tracker from the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES). Thus, Soltec becomes one of the first manufacturers of solar trackers to achieve the FINAME certification.
SolarCity Selects Tesla Batteries For Kauai Solar+Storage Project
SolarCity says its solar-plus-storage project next to KIUC’s Kapaia power plant is the first utility-scale system in the United States to provide “dispatchable” solar power that is available after the sun goes down. Under the terms of a 20-year power purchase agreement, KIUC will pay SolarCity $0.145/kWh, which SolarCity says is only slightly more than the cost of energy from KIUC's two existing 12 MW solar arrays whose output is available only during the day.
SunPower Cuts Ribbon On 15 MW Air Force Base Solar Project
SunPower Corp. joined utility NV Energy, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Miranda Ballentine and 99th Air Base Wing Commander Colonel Richard Boutwell in dedicating a new 15 MW solar power system that is now operating at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. SunPower designed and constructed the Nellis Solar Array II project over a closed landfill using its Oasis technology, a fully integrated, modular solar power block.

RadianGEN And BlueWave Join Forces On Mass. Community Solar Portfolio
Radian Generation (RadianGEN) has entered into an agreement with BlueWave, a Boston-based solar project development and fin-tech company, to provide asset management and operations and maintenance (O&M) services for BlueWave’s community solar portfolio in Massachusetts. Under the program, RadianGEN will support O&M services, contract compliance and financial management for a 25 MW solar portfolio of BlueWave assets to be commissioned this year. According to RadianGEN, its role will expand as the portfolio moves through development and reaches commercial operation.
Nautilus Solar And Enphase Collaborate On Asset Management Services
Nautilus Solar Energy, LLC and Enphase Energy, Inc.announced an agreement to provide combined Asset Management services to distributed generation (DG) customers in the United States. Both entities have established specialty divisions to address the growing demand for asset management services. Nautilus Solar has been providing its customers with asset management services since 2007. Seeing the demand in the solar market, the company launched an asset management division, Integrated Asset Management.
Altus Power Brings Five Solar Systems To New Jersey Schools
Altus Power, a Greenwich, Conn.-based company that invests in, owns and manages clean energy projects, has completed five new solar power projects for schools in New Jersey. Three of the systems have been installed on the roofs of the McKinley, Redshaw and Woodrow Wilson schools in New Brunswick. These systems, totaling 760 kW, were built by ProTech along with Johnson Controls as part of a larger clean energy initiative across the New Brunswick Public School system.
sPower Completes 45 MW Sandstone Solar Project In Arizona
Utah-based sPower has completed its 45 MW Sandstone Solar project, located in Florence, Ariz. Salt River Project (SRP), a community-based nonprofit utility, is purchasing all of the energy produced at the facility, which is owned and operated by sPower. The project is located on more than 300 acres and utilizes over 182,000 photovoltaic modules mounted on a single-axis tracking system.
Syncarpha Capital, Borrego Solar Systems, And Renewable Energy Massachusetts Complete 6 Megawatt Solar Array On Massachusetts Brownfield
Syncarpha Capital LLC, Borrego Solar Systems Inc., and Renewable Energy Massachusetts LLC (REM) announce today the completion of a 6 megawatt (MW) solar array located on the former Palmer Metropolitan Airfield in Palmer, Mass. The Palmer Airfield project is unique in that it is both the first and, at 6 MW, the largest Department of Energy Resources (DOER) qualified brownfield project under the Massachusetts SREC II solar energy incentive program.
