WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following is a statement from Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) on the House vote to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act:
“We are deeply disappointed that the House voted to repeal the single most effective policy we have to create jobs and encourage domestic manufacturing. The Inflation Reduction Act has sparked billions of dollars of new clean energy investments and supported a domestic manufacturing renaissance.
“The House action today will hurt American businesses, which are creating jobs, and delivering reliable and affordable clean energy. This decision will ultimately harm our efforts to reshore and revitalize domestic manufacturing and make it harder to maintain American energy dominance.
“The 255,000 Americans in the U.S. solar and storage industry are calling on Congressional champions to defend these job-creating policies.”
