Legislation to repeal North Carolina’s renewable energy portfolio standards was killed in a House committee vote April 24.

After narrowly passing its first subcommittee hearing April 3, H.B. 298, which would have done away with the state’s renewable power mandates in 2021, was defeated 18-13 by members of the House Committee on Public Utilities and Energy.
