The White House's Office of the U.S. Trade Representative held a public hearing on Wednesday, December 6th in regards to the Section 201 trade petition brought by Suniva and SolarWorld. SEIA coordinated a panel of witnesses from solar industry representatives to deliver testimony in opposition to tariffs that would harm growth and put tens of thousands of jobs at risk.

On December 5th, the day before a public hearing at the White House's Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), 35 Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives and 6 Republican members of the U.S. Senate sent letters to the USTR urging it to advise President Trump not to place tariffs on imported solar cells.

SEIA's C&I Working Group recently issued a new model power purchase agreement (PPA).

A variety of voices have come out in opposition to the Petition filed by Suniva and SolarWorld, advocating for trade policy that does not put tens of thousands of U.S. jobs at risk. From the Wall Street Journal to the American Legislative Exchange Council, the position is clear: no new solar tariffs.
