Event Detail The solar industry is currently outpacing the rest of the economy in its employment of veterans, with veterans representing 8.7% of the solar workforce, compared to 5.7% in the overall economy. But there is still a long way to go in order to continue building military representation in solar energy.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities is nearing the end of its comprehensive revision of the state’s solar energy incentive programs. This transition began with the closure of the Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) Program on April 30, 2020 and the interim Transition Incentive (TI) Program, which serves as a bridge to the forthcoming Successor Program.

On May 6, 2021 the Solar Energy Industries Association, The Solar Foundation and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council are releasing the 11th annual National Solar Jobs Census, which shows the U.S. solar industry employed 231,474 workers in 2020.

Since 2010, the National Solar Jobs Census has been the definitive measure of solar energy industry employment in the United States, charting the growth of the solar workforce alongside the rise of solar energy as a major contributor to the U.S. energy supply and economy as a whole.
