WEBINAR: Powering Success: Tools for Embedding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) into Registered Apprenticeship

Event Detail

Apprenticeships are a time-tested and powerful tool for workforce development. Registered apprenticeships can support companies in meeting their needs for a trained workforce while opening doors to new career pathways for individuals from historically excluded groups. Embedding DEIA into Registered Apprenticeship programs can be a powerful strategy for solar and storage companies. Companies participating in registered apprenticeships often experience improved workforce productivity and reduced turnover. Companies that intentionally embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) tend to outperform their competitors that do not.

Participants will gain insights into effective strategies for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, retaining, and establishing clear career progression pathways for a diverse apprenticeship workforce, including apprentices from marginalized communities and groups that are under-represented in solar and registered apprenticeship programs.

The webinar will include a breakdown of Affirmative Action Plan requirements and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations for Registered Apprenticeship programs. We will focus on practical strategies and resources for meeting these requirements and going well beyond the requirements to support DEIA in apprenticeship programs effectively.

This webinar is a component of Apprenticeships in Clean Energy (ACE) Network, an initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. ACE Network offers outreach and educational resources, free technical support, and financial aid to assist clean energy employers, training providers, and other stakeholders in navigating the registered apprenticeship system and establish apprenticeship training programs.

Join the webinar on April 23rd at 11 a.m. PT/ 2 p.m. ET!
