Promoting Solar Deployment Through Soft Cost Reduction

Event Detail

Local governments have tremendous influence on the pace of solar energy growth in their municipalities, but unnecessary paperwork, red tape, and other burdensome requirements increase installation costs and discourage solar market growth. Reducing these barriers to solar development by streamlining requirements and reducing red tape is essential to creating a strong solar industry and encourage local development.

SolSmart, a national program funded by the U.S Department of Energy, works with local governments to reduce solar soft costs and increase solar deployment across the country. In SEIA's upcoming webinar, get insight into the positive impacts that SolSmart has on local solar markets, and how the program works with SolarAPP+ to create an efficient process for installers to get projects approved and implemented.

  • Toyah Callahan, Deputy Director, SolSmart Program, IREC
