SEIA Applauds Approval of New Solar Energy Projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Reacting to the announcement that two solar energy projects located near the Nevada-California border have been approved as part of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan to reduce carbon pollution, create jobs and move our economy toward clean energy sources, Ken Johnson, vice president of communications for the Solar Energy Industries Association, issued the following statement:

“As the fastest-growing source of renewable energy in America, solar is poised to have another record-breaking year in 2014 – and these new projects in Nevada and California are the latest evidence of that. President Obama and his administration deserve a lot of credit for pursuing smart public policies that have opened the doors to the widespread development of utility-scale solar, as well as the rapid expansion of rooftop solar. But despite our tremendous successes to date, we’re just scratching the surface of solar’s enormous potential across America.”
