Katy Yuan
Manager, Certification Programs
As Manager of Certification Programs, Katy develops and executes SEIA certifications to ensure practices comply with ANSI-accredited SEIA standards. This initiative is to provide the solar and energy storage industry with a mechanism to uphold best practices and to support ongoing professional development within the field. Katy also assists the Technical Services team by initiating education provider approvals and supporting ANAB accreditation efforts.
Before joining SEIA, Katy managed and enhanced certification programs for nonprofits, trade organizations, and government agencies. Her work included improving certification operations, enhancing approved training provider programs, and launching bootcamp initiatives in collaboration with various partners. Through her prior roles, Katy has worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the International Code Council on projects aimed at promoting professional certifications and offering continuing education opportunities.
Katy resides in Richmond, VA, where she was born and raised. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and going on trail walks with her dog, Molly.
