A large solar farm project planned for a site northwest of Milford has been acquired by PSEG Solar Source, a subsidiary of PSEG, the company announced on Monday.
PSEG purchased the $50 million, 15-megawatt project from juwi solar Inc., and will begin constructing the solar farm by the end of this month, PSEG announced. When it is finished, probably by the end of the year, it will be the largest solar farm in the state, PSEG reported.
The Delaware Municipal Electric Corp., which represents municipal electric utilities throughout the state, has a contract to purchase all of the power, and some of the renewable energy credits from the project.
