Renewable energy developer Cypress Creek Renewables is to invest more than $20 million in two new projects in South Carolina as it looks to capitalise on the state’s solar boom. The South Carolina Department of Commerce confirmed yesterday that the company is committed to develop two 10 MW utility-scale solar farms in Lexington County as part its plans to establish 1 GW of solar in the U.S. before the end of 2016. Cypress Creek is currently working with local installer Sustainable Energy Solutions to identify specific sites for the projects, and both parties are currently coordinating with utilities with a view to having both sites fully operational by the end of 2016.
