WASHINGTON — Catholic University says the addition of more than 700 solar panels over more than 70 parking spaces gives it the largest solar power installation in the Washington area.
The university is holding a ribbon-cutting on Friday. Catholic University says the system now has more than 2,600 solar panels generating about 830 megawatts.
School officials say panels were also installed this summer on the roofs of the university’s athletic center and Pangborn Hall as well as the grounds of the maintenance complex. Panels have previously been placed on a number of campus buildings.
