St. Louis Cardinals Cooking With Solar Power

Creve Coeur Patch

There may not have been any sunshine bearing down on the St. Louis Cardinals’ home opener Friday, but the stadium will be cooking with solar energy as the season progresses.

St. Louis Cardinals’ fans may not taste the difference, but the next hot dog they consume at Busch Stadium could be cooked with power from solar energy. The Cardinals have partnered with Microgrid Energy, the Electrical Connection, and Sachs Electric, to bring solar energy to Busch Stadium for the first time ever, according to a news release. Some food, beverage and retail shops are now powered by 106 solar panels, producing approximately 32,000 kilowatt hours of solar energy per year.
